La beauté de l'Europe

La beauté de l'Europe - The beauty of Europe (Courtesy Google Translate)
=========================================================================

I landed in France in April 2011. Since then the travel gods have been guiding me in visiting many places in Europe. I have tried to sit down and write these interesting trips, but it never kicked off until last week when i was watching 'Into the wild'. This could be a late start, when i am almost ready to travel back to India completing my 2 years in France! But nevertheless, i have started.

To add a little spice which again needs to be imported(no offense), make it a bit interesting rather, i would be now-and-then including some anecdotes which took place during such travels.

France is a beautiful place. Thats an understatement of course. Its awesome by its own means.

For travellers, there is a boon waiting in France which is the SNCF - Société Nationale des Chemins de fer français; "French National Railway Corporation" which can be compare to a circulatory system of sorts.

The SNCF offers the spectacular service of TGV (translates to Train à Grande Vitesse - High Speed Train) which was my primary mode of travel if i ignore the significantly lesser flights that i took to some places as they worked out less expensive than the then train fares. (Thats one wierd thing about this place...train ticket rates fluctuate like a crazy share market...and you have crazy offers too!!)

Some of the places which i got to visit are listed below:

Angouleme
Avignon
Cognac
Eze
La Rochelle
Lourdes
Lyon
Marseilles - Cassis
Nice
Paris
Pyrenees
Royan
Strasbourg
Toulouse

The other parts of Europe which i got to visit (thanks to the good connectivity from France)are
Amsterdam
Bruges (West Flanders, Flemish Region of Belgium)
Brussels
Basel (Switzerland)
Engelberg (Switzerland)
Geneva (Switzerland)
Ghent (Flemish Region of Belgium)
Jung Frau (Switzerland)
Lucerene (Switzerland)
Monaco - Monte Carlo
Salsburg (Austria)
San Sebastian (Spain)
Vienna (Austria)

Will continue writing about the beauty of these places in forthcoming blogs. Keep reading...
