Daya Dharma - Of Rama Krishna and Buddha.

Compassion has been extensively a part of both mythology and history of India. It was termed Daya Dharma.

People who followed and preached this have had to undergo difficulties which when written down will be no less than a horror manuscript.Abuse, prosecution and herculean resistance would have been part and parcel of daily life of such beings who took the effort to bring about the habit of following Daya Dhrama.

Rama, who gave a second chance to Ravana (Though Ravana was a demon who abducted his beloved wife Sita) in the battlefield is an example. Though a crown prince he walked out to the forest to fulfill his father's wish. He wore tree bark and saint like clothes for 14 years. Simplicity and humility combined

Krishna who forgave Shishupala 100 times is also another example. Though a god on earth, he lived among cowherds and even became one among them and did acts which only directed towards happiness of others. Simplicity and humility combined...a peacock feather looked more priceless on his head than ornaments and the tulsi was more favorable for him than kilos of gold.

Buddha's life itself is full of incidents of compassion who became the teacher of men and gods. Simplicity of a child and humility of a saint combined...transformed from a prince to a Yogi. His act on Angulimala reminds you of the forgiveness of Rama too.
